As you know I’m a bit of a travel queen and everywhere I go, Ava comes with me, so those of you who saw me in ‘Eighty days around the world’ where I travelled around America with John Barrowman for Children in Need will have seen how much I missed Ava. I’d never been away from her for that long so it was pretty tough, but I decided that a road trip across the US where we were hitch-hiking and travelling for 14 hours in a truck wasn’t the best ‘experience’ for a two-year-old!
And yes, the terrible twos have arrived in our house. I don’t want to break Ava’s spirit because part of me is proud of her feistiness and defiance, but she is full of mischief. The other day when we were eating in a restaurant, she threw broccoli at the man at the next table and when I asked her to stop she threw chicken at him. The worst thing was that he was clearly on a date.
Ava loves stories before bedtime so when she’s naughty I say ‘I won’t read you a story then’, the problem is recently she’s been saying, ‘Don’t care’, where do you go with that? Obviously Gray and I play good cop, bad cop all the time with me trying to carry out the discipline and Gray saying, ‘awww she’s my little daughter, I want to read her her bedtime story’! Ava also insists on sleeping in our bed every night. Of course we love snuggling up to her and she loves it too. Mind you, it’ll be a miracle if I ever manage to get pregnant with number two…

The new Baby K collection launched in October and has been incredibly well received. In fact it’s been our most successful collection yet. Top sellers are the party dresses (the lace bow dress and the shiny grey spotty one) and for boys the smart shirt with the tie attached. Probably one of the reasons the collection has been so successful is because lots of the items are unisex like the jeans. It means if you buy them for your little girl, her little brother can wear them when she grows out of them!
I’m also really excited because the Baby K buggy will be launching in the New-Year along with Baby K bedding (which as you know isn’t all giraffes and pastels, but vibrant colours of oranges and greys!)
I’ve just finished shooting the M&S Christmas commercial where I had to ice skate - interesting because I can’t skate. I had to go to a training session at Alexandra Palace to learn how to stop! Ava came with me and had baby skates on and she had a blast even if she had to be helped around the whole time. The head of M&S invited us for dinner, so I made Ava draw a picture to say thanks and she drew her first ever face. I couldn’t believe it as she’s been drawing scribbles for ages – of course I couldn’t hand it over once she’d done it so I made her draw another one!

With Christmas around the corner I’ve decided everyone will be getting Baby K clothes – I recently went on Loose Women and all the ‘loose women’ loved Baby K, they’re either mamas, or Nana's themselves so it was great they were impressed with the collection. We’re actually giving away black canvas Baby K bags with every Baby K purchase in Mothercare stores so not only do your kids look great, you get a handy bag too!
Right, better get back to my troublesome two-year-old and dressing up and fairies and baking cakes…
The Baby K bedding range will be available in 80 stores and the full range will be available online from February 2010.
Don't forget i'll be doing a live webchat on gurgle.com on December 9th at 2pm (next Wednesday) so join me for a
