We took the Meriva to a wedding this weekend!Unfortunately it was so chaotic we didn’t get a photo with the car but managed to get a nice one of us three!People commented on the car, asking us about it and I plugged it to all the people with kids there! It was a hot day and the car quickly cooled on our way to the
reception when I blew us all away with the rather sophisticated climate
control settings! We managed to fit me (driving), James in the passenger seat, and Jack in the back with my friends Jean and Anthony. They were a little squished but there was more room than when I try to squeeze two people in my car along with Jack and seat! The roomy boot took everything we needed, buggy, presents, bags, Jack's bits and bobs etc.We arrived (slightly chilled!) at the reception venue, had some
nibbles and drinks, played with balloons and then my mum came to
collect Jack – so mummy and daddy could P.A.R.T.Y!I removed the car seat from the Meriva easily (again Flexdoors make this sooo easy!) and Jack went home with my mum.I think he was secretly upset he wasn’t in the Meriva… :)Day trip to Castle Howard:Unfortunately it rained….well, it rained a lot!Filming this day out was going to be difficult!Jack went in the back with his Nana and Grandpa, and my dad was
impressed with the handles to hold on to, to help you get into the back. This is a really nice feature, even for older kids too as it gives them something to hold on to, to get in.The middle seat belt caused my mum a little confusion but we
soon sorted it out! It comes from above your head and one clips
diagonally, and the other bit clips over your lap.Nice and safe.On the way James filmed and talked the camera (and my mum and dad) through some of the features of the car.My mum liked the amount of light that came into the car from the panoramic sunroof – even on such a dull day.We arrived and parked, and the rain eased a little, so we
managed to have a walk around outside and let Jack have a run about a
bit.It was at this point my camera’s battery decided to die, luckily
we switched to my mum’s, although I had to spend half an hour talking
James through how to use it! He isn’t a practical person! We had a visit to the lovely garden centre they have there, but
the rain decided to throw it down even more so we gave up and went to
have a well deserved cuppa and a scone. After we’d dried out a bit and Jack had nicked most of my scone,
we had a quick visit to the Castle Howard peacocks and decided to head
home. The rain was really coming down and the wipers coped well with the strong rain.I had it on the Rain Sense setting so it slowed and speeded up as the rain did.I really like this about the car, as I can’t stand it when the
rain is ‘in between’ the speeds for your wipers – if you know what I
mean! One speed is too slow, and the other too fast!Again the automatic lights were fab and changed to brighter when the sky suddenly went even duller. It was a lovely afternoon out, if not a bit soggy but my mum and
dad were really impressed with the car and could see how useful all the
gadgets are for a young family!I wonder if they’re up for REALLY treating us at Christmas…. ;)
